Collaborative Kicks Off 2023 with an In-Person Retreat

1/15/23

The Collaborative met in-person for the first time in three years at the Port Hadlock-Irondale Public Library in early January, where the group planned out their work and goals for the year. Members  renewed their committee positions are glad to have Jon Owen continue to Co-Chair the conservation caucus and Matt Comisky Co-Chair the timber caucus. In addition to discussions about the group’s governance practices, they also brained-stormed a four-year strategic plan, discussing creative ways to engage their partners and the public.

Additionally, consulting foresters from Resilient Forestry provided an excellent training workshop on the Collaborative’s new AMA over 80 Decision Framework Tool. The workshop included a detailed presentation on the forest management practices embedded in the tool, as well as an engaging simulation of how to apply the decision framework. The Collaborative looks forward to putting these ideas and new land management tools into practice and sharing with our partners across the Peninsula.
