H to Z

H to Z

In 2016, Sierra Pacific Industries purchased the H to Z stewardship sale, which generated 1.4 MMBF from the Olympic National Forest and $275,000 in stewardship receipts, to be applied to restoration projects on the Forest. The Collaborative added capacity by contributing to the harvest prescription and post-harvest monitoring. The treatment included 70 acres of 65-70-year-old trees in the Sol Duc Watershed.

The stewardship receipts from the H to Z sale have been committed for use as a culvert replacement at Milepost 16.1 in the Sitkum watershed. This project is a part of the FS RD 2900 Aquatic Restoration Project from the Olympic National Forest

More information:
Stakeholders gathered for a field tour of the H to Z sale in August 2018 to learn about the progress of scientific monitoring concluding the sale, which measures the ecological impacts of the sale and will provide information on how to move forward with future prescriptions.
