On April 20th, 2023 the Biden Administration released an Executive Order on Climate Resilience and began a public comment period for proposed rulemaking for federal forest and grassland management. The Collaborative collectively drafted a narrowly focused public comment letter which shares the group’s mission and goals of increasing the timber volume on the Olympic National Forest by providing research-based recommendations to forest thinning prescriptions that lead to the development of complex forest stands and old-growth characteristics over time. Individual members of the OFC commented on behalf of their organizations to emphasize individual priorities.
